Folks often ask me what equipment I use to photograph wildlife. Within this gallery is the current gear that I have been fortunate enough to accumulate over the last few years. Keep in mind that it is not the equipment but the photographer that captures the images.

After learning the basic fundamentals of digital photography with the Canon 20D, purchased the above camera. The Mark IIN is the successor to the EOS-1D Mark II. The EOS-1D Mark II N has an 8.2 megapixel CMOS sensor, 8.5 fps shooting speed, 2.5" wide view screen and the ability to write different formats simultaneously to both SD and CF cards. After owning this camera for over a year, it has proven to be effective for wildlife photography due to its fast fps and hardy build quality. One con about this camera is that it is heavy. Another issue is that I to send it back to Canon because of a back focusing issue. After it was returned from the factory it has worked fine.
